Daniel Siegwart Laboratory at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center At UT Southwestern, the Siegwart Research Group uses a materials chemistry approach to tackle challenges in disease therapy. We are currently focused on 1) the development of improved materials for effective delivery of siRNA, miRNA, mRNA, and CRISPR/Cas therapeutics to manipulate gene expression in tumors and to correct genetic diseases; and 2) the discovery of stimuli-responsive cancer imaging probes. Long-term, we aim to globally understand how the physical and chemical properties of materials affect interactions with biological systems in the context of improving therapies. © 2023 Daniel Siegwart Laboratory at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
